“To cook or not to cook – that is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The pain in the proverbial over a hot stove
Or to take up the offerings from Goodness Gracious
And by doing so, put an end to all your critics”

With huge apologies to William S, but Goodness Gracious is here to help those of you who don’t have the time or simply don’t feel like shopping, chopping, cooking and cleaning! Let us do the cooking so that you can enjoy a convenient, healthy & delicious dinner. Choose a meal out of the freezer and all you have to do is follow our 21st century English instructions and serve with a suitable accompaniment or vegetable dish (on which Nicky would be only too happy to advise).Back from England having spent a couple of weeks with family, we are now busy stocking up our freezers again. Summer there is similar to winter here and there’s still plenty of good excuses for heart-warming tasty meals.

Our Dish of the Month is a casserole – Chicken Casserole with Lemon & Thyme -a dish created to suit the family, new mums or people who just want something simple but wholesome and nutritious and which still tastes really good. We create this fabulous dish with succulent pieces of chicken, cooked slowly with wine, stock, lemon, thyme, leeks and carrot batons – all you need to do is serve it with some rice or potatoes and a green vegetable. And by the way, it’s low in carbs and gluten free.

Don’t forget of course that we have plenty more delicious winter dishes from curries to tagines and soups to sauces. If you are looking for classic dishes, then try our Hearty Meatballs topped with Mozzarella or Cottage Pie topped with Leeks & Cheddar. All prepared with love and care in the Goodness Gracious kitchen.
This month is also Crumble Month! An ideal pudding served on a chilly winter’s evening with family or friends.  Why not? They’re full of goodness for a quick and easy pudding. Try our Pear, Blackberry & Hazelnut Crumble or that old favourite: Apple Raspberry & Almond Crumble.  Serve warm with a dollop of cream or a good vanilla ice cream. Any leftovers become a breakfast treat!

We are now delivering not only to the surrounding areas of Somerset West, Stellenbosch and Cape Town but also to Hermanus so please contact us for delivery details and cost.  We do keep stock available but being a small business we do need a little notice if you require a particular dish or for larger orders. To abuse the Bard once more, “now would I give a thousand furlongs of sea for a Goodness Gracious meal”

Happy Eating and thank you for your wonderful support,

Nicky, Gogs, Caroline and Jan
